1993: Andrea van der Straeten & Jochen Traar
In 1993 Andrea van der Straeten and Jochen Traar developed a series of 'public' works. Their drawings and text were published each week in Durham's newspaper; the exhibition 28 Years..., involving these same images and mirrors was later opened to the public. Finally, a performance ended the whole project with dramatic audio being broadcast to the entire town via the local church's steeple speakers. Traar and Van Der Straeten also gave a lecture about their work and created a short performance piece at the Tom Thomson Memorial Art Gallery in Owen Sound.
